Pale volumes and warm thresholds.
A contemporary residence organised through projecting balconies, pale wall planes and warm entrance details.
Vision & brief
Himanshuji’s residence at Signature Homes on Gandhi Path West, Jaipur, is presented through a contemporary architectural composition of pale volumes and projecting balconies. The home’s identity begins with the relationship between those larger forms and the more intimate threshold of arrival.
Design response
The design gives depth to the street face through overlapping wall planes and sheltered edges. Balconies interrupt the solidity of the elevation, introducing an intermediate layer between interior rooms and the surroundings. The composition balances a clear outline with moments of recess and shadow.
Material & detail
Warm entrance details provide a counterpoint to the pale exterior. A restrained palette allows form and proportion to carry the architecture. Its sense of welcome is concentrated at the threshold, where the broader composition meets the everyday experience of entering a home.
