A layered family interior brings open living and dining spaces together with quieter rooms, each given its own character through colour, artwork and joinery.
Vision & brief
UDB Villa in Sanganer, Jaipur, is conceived around the contrast between a generous family centre and rooms with a more personal scale. The interior design connects living, dining and informal gathering while allowing bedrooms and the upper lounge to develop individual characters.
Design response
The double-height living room establishes the main spatial event. Its challenge is to feel welcoming at the scale of everyday seating as well as impressive as a volume. Furniture groups, timber screens and display shelving define smaller territories within that openness. The upper lounge offers a quieter counterpoint, maintaining a connection to the shared spaces without repeating their scale.
Material & detail
Pale upholstery, dark accent chairs and clustered tables sit beneath sculptural lighting. Timber tones, stone-like surfaces and metal accents recur through dining joinery and bedroom compositions, with artwork and fabrics introducing variation. Upholstered headboards and reading corners shift the emphasis towards rest. The home finds its richness in a choice of settings—places to gather, withdraw, read and return to family life—rather than in a single decorative gesture.
