Vision & brief
Landmark Café & Retail on Gandhi Path West, Jaipur, combines street-facing retail, a café courtyard and rooftop gathering. The corner address has a recognisable identity while drawing visitors towards spaces beyond the frontage.
Design response
The design balances the outward presence of retail with a more inward hospitality experience. Angled roof profiles and a blue screened elevation establish the street edge. Entrance steps and timber screens lead towards the planted court, while the rooftop offers a further setting beneath pergolas and parasols. Each level changes the relationship to the city without losing the coherence of the overall composition.
Material & detail
Brick, timber, pale veined surfaces and metal detailing temper the graphic façade. Planting softens overhead grids and the edges of the courtyard, making it a place to occupy rather than merely pass through. The architectural identity rests on the relationship between arrival, commerce and hospitality, with a sequence of sheltered and open settings.
