Karim’s pairs an intimate Indian dining room with a planted rooftop terrace, offering two distinct settings for gathering around a meal.
Vision & brief
Karim’s at R-Tech Mall in Jagatpura, Jaipur, brings together two complementary dining experiences: an intimate interior and an open rooftop terrace. Shared dining has a distinct sense of occasion, while guests retain a choice of enclosure, outlook and atmosphere.
Design response
The interior uses arched dining bays and a clear aisle to bring order to a richly patterned setting. Outdoors, pergolas, fabric shade and planted edges define smaller groups of tables around the terrace. The design connects these different experiences through a common attention to seating, circulation and the relationship between a table and its surroundings.
Material & detail
Floral treatments, timber panelling and patterned ceiling elements give the interior its decorative character. Cane-backed chairs and pale tabletops offer a tactile counterpoint. Lanterns, geometric paving and curved seating carry a related rhythm onto the terrace, connecting the two settings through detail while preserving their different moods.
